About This Campaign

Join the Matthew Shepard Foundation and Miller Lite for a post-hate crime panel reception at Rumors. Judy & Dennis Shepard, as well as the rest of the Foundation will be in attendance. You can ask questions, grab a drink, a selfie, some Miller Lite swag, and mingle with other people interested in learning more about hate crime prevention and awareness. The state saw 102 documented hate crimes in 2015, up from 73 in 2014.  This is a marked decrease since a high of 306 were reported in 2002*.  Please join us on November 9th to learn more about this systemic challenge.

Space is limited so RSVP today!

* Note: The Shepard-Byrd Hate Crime Prevention Act, enacted in 2009, allows for the prosecution of federal hate crimes.  Unfortunately, there is no mandate for reporting in the U.S. and Florida is a perfect example of how both victims (unwilling to come forward) and law enforcement (not mandated to report) skew the potential and likely hateful acts that have actually occurred
